在刚刚落幕的第十五届上海国际节上，“戏剧小天后”张馨予随《河东狮吼2》剧组一同亮相，为影片摇旗呐喊。在这部影片中，张馨予不爱红妆爱武装，盔甲加身，英姿飒爽，更是首度变身武林高手，奉献出了自己的银幕武戏首秀。在上海电影节的《河东狮吼2》发布会上，张馨予笑言：“从这部影片开始，自己就走上了武戏的‘不归路’。”
一向以性感成熟范儿出现在影视剧里张馨予此次在《河东狮吼2》中饰演的是小沈阳手下的一位女将军，全片中几乎都是以军装示人，而且有多场刀光剑影的打戏，而即便是脱下军装，换上女装，也都十分朴素，这让《河东狮吼2》中的张馨予无论是在形象上还是演技上都有了很大的突破，让人很是期待。谈及在《河东狮吼2》中的种种突破，张馨予调侃道：“因为在这部电影中演了打戏，从此之后，我就走上了打打杀杀的‘不归路’。”
